Hugged hard, tested harder

Before anything reached a shelf, an accredited lab pulled, stretched, burned and soaked samples of our first production runs to the European toy safety standard. Here is what they tested and what they found.

What the lab tested

  • The planet Orbys and the Mellow Moon Orby: EN 71 parts 1, 2 and 3 (strength, flammability, and the metals that must not leach out). Passed, November 2025.
  • The big planet plushies, Endearing Earth among them: EN 71 parts 1, 2 and 3. Passed, November 2025.
  • All six Chompybones babies: EN 71 parts 1, 2 and 3. Passed, December 2025. Small parts, so not for anyone under 3.
  • The clips, rings and pendants on both families: tested for nickel release under the EU's REACH rules. Nothing detected.

Tested by BZT, accredited under IAS TL-1239 (ILAC-MRA). Every result in every report is a pass, and every chemical line reads not detected.

The Splendid Sun Orby is still a sample. It joins the shop only once it has passed its own tests.

Every wonder here is for ages 3 and up.

Before it changes hands

Gifting one? Read the sewn-in label and the hang tag first, and take off every scrap of packaging before it changes hands.

Then let it dry in the open air, never in a tumble dryer.

After the long road home

  1. A gentle squeeze, to wake it from the journey.
  2. Plump its cheeks back to round.
  3. Tell it where it lives now. It likes to know.

Keychains live a rough life on a bag. If a clip or ring ever comes loose, take your friend off the bag and let it retire to a shelf.
